Overwhelmed

shh…I’m overwhelmed but don’t tell anyone.

As a small to mid-size business owner, do you find yourself overwhelmed? If you answered no, you’re the one in a million.

Many of the SMB’s I’ve spoken to lately feel like they have to say “confidentially, I’m overwhelmed or maxed out,” but don’t tell anyone. Really?

Since when is that a secret or a bad thing?

This means either things are going well and you’re so busy, you could use some help…or things aren’t going so well, and you could use some help.

I met with a small business owner recently who told me he had grown to 3 different offerings in his business. Almost little businesses within the business and he was having trouble figuring out how to maintain controlled growth.

In one day, we were able to map out his business, assess each offering and develop action plans for each. We also got a good start on evaluating his team and where the gaps are.

By the end of the day, his anxiety was gone, and he was feeling re-energized.

Good leaders know their strengths and they surround themselves with people who complement them.

In small businesses, it’s okay to admit you need help and while you may think you can’t afford it, I’m here to tell you, you can!

Enter the fractional executive. They have the skills to help, but because they aren’t on your team full time, they don’t come with the big price tag.

The first thing you need to do is take a breath and admit where you need help. Then you can develop your action plan.
